According to the eBay discussion board, eBay’s own search engine suffered an outage. The outage lasted a little over an hour and limited shoppers from getting any results when searching. According to eBay’s policies, they will automatically credit any fees associated with affect listings when an outage over 1 hour occurs.
Unfortunately, this has happended before not too long ago. The last glitch affected the Title and Description search as well. So what’s a seller to do?
One suggestion I continually make to my clients is to market outside of eBay. You cannot rely on eBay alone to drive traffic to you stores and this glitch shows you exactly why sellers must be proactive.
Remember, using blogs, reviews, guides and other tools that are picked up by search engines will only help you drive more qualified traffic to your listings.
